Apple has hired two new ad design and development teams to help build products for the company’s new advertising platforms.
The new teams will help the company continue to grow its ad products for iOS and Mac, and will be responsible for designing the products that will be offered to advertisers, as well as creating the products themselves.
Apple previously hired two of the two teams, according to a person familiar with the situation.
The person said the companies had been in talks about hiring more staff, but no specific numbers had been announced.
The news comes as Apple is under intense pressure from rivals to cut costs and build more products, as the company has become increasingly dependent on mobile advertising.
Apple said last month it would stop supporting the Mac OS X operating system after a court ruling in favor of Apple in a dispute over patent licensing.
The court has said the software has infringed on several Apple patents.
