Why the Cleveland Browns should be thrilled by Odell Beckham Jr.’s return to the lineup
- by admin
If you’re a Browns fan, you probably have heard about Odell, the rookie wide receiver who has spent his entire rookie season in the starting lineup.
You might have even seen him make the most of the opportunity, scoring a touchdown in every game this season.
But what you probably haven’t seen is the man himself getting back on the field.
The Browns have had to put some weight on Odell in recent weeks because of an injury to T.Y. Hilton.
So when Odell returned, he wasn’t just getting his first opportunity to play since he was injured.
He was getting a second opportunity to be a player that was going to help the Browns win games.
“I think he’s a different player,” said Browns head coach Hue Jackson.
“He’s a guy that has to be on the same page.
He has to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to him.
He’s an opportunist.
I think you saw him make a couple big plays today.
He had a nice catch and a nice touchdown catch.””
He’s really stepped up and done a lot of good things,” said Jackson.
Jackson says he’s been impressed with Odell’s performance so far this season and that it was important to keep his spot on the team.
“It was very important to get him healthy,” said the head coach.
“I think it’s just a matter of time before he’s ready to come back and be a full participant on the football field.”
If Odell plays like he did in the last couple weeks, he should be on a roll.
When you’re trying to figure out who’s going to lead your team, it’s easy to get caught up in the statistics.
While Odell had just seven catches for 79 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles on Sunday, he did have one reception for a touchdown on Thursday against the New York Jets.
In addition to his touchdown, Odell scored the Browns’ first touchdown of the season, a 26-yard catch to T.
That catch gave the Browns their first lead of the game.
It was a big moment for Odell.
As we all know, the Browns had a lot to work with after they lost the game to the Jets on Sunday.
And now, Odel has a chance to step up and help them get back to the playoffs.
After missing time with a hamstring injury, Odlel returned to practice today and is ready to play again.
Now, he’s got a chance for a big day.
That’s the kind of player that we need to have.
There are so many positives about Odel.
He seems to have the same intensity and desire to win that he did when he was coming out of college.
He understands the importance of being consistent and doing things the right way.
And that’s what you see in him every single play.
You see him in practice, and it’s really exciting to see.
If you want to get a better sense of the kind the Browns are going to be, you can’t get too excited about Odelly.
They still have some holes to fill.
Odell has been one of the top receivers in the league since he joined the Browns.
He has been targeted on 40.2% of his routes and has made 16 of his 25 receptions for 211 yards and three touchdowns.
His performance is helping the Browns get closer to the playoff hunt.
This will be Odell Day for the Browns, and they need him to be happy with his play to make the playoffs and make the Browns into a playoff contender.
